Truffle grilled cheese with Mt Tam triple cream cheese, toasted until golden and filled with rich, melty cheese and earthy black truffles.

Mt Tam Truffle Grilled Cheese

This Mt Tam truffle grilled cheese is the epitome of decadence. Two slices of artisan bread are filled with creamy slices of Mt Tam that melt beautifully together with rich shaved truffles.

Ingredients

2 slice(s) sourdough or your favorite artisan bread
1/2 wheel Mt Tam cut into long pieces
1/2 fresh black truffle shaved, or truffle oil
Softened butter
Kosher salt
Cracked black pepper

Directions

1. Generously butter the outside of each slice of bread. On one slice, add 3-4 long, thin slices of Mt Tam. Top with shaved truffles or a drizzle of truffle oil. Place the other slice of bread on top.

2. Heat a skillet on medium heat. Once hot, add in the grilled cheese sandwich. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until the bread is crispy, golden, and the cheese has melted.

Mt Tam
An organic American Original cheese recipe, our best-selling cheese has all the lusciousness you expect from a triple cream with a unique heart that upholds its texture. Named after the iconic landmark Mount Tamalpais that rises over the San Francisco Bay in Marin County, Cowgirl Creamery’s Mt Tam cheese is produced with organic, locally sourced milk and rises above the standard for bloomy rind cheeses. Mt Tam takes you from fudgey firmness to buttery softness with flavors spanning from bright creme fraiche to complex and mushroomy, evoking North Bay’s lush green and gold pastures.
