Most of the milk we use to make our Cowgirl Creamery cheese comes directly from Albert Straus’ organic dairy on the banks of the Tomales Bay. Since day one, we have worked in collaboration with the Straus family to make great dairy products using ethical and environmentally sound practices. Founded in 1994, the Creamery was the first certified organic dairy west of the Mississippi River and the first 100% certified organic creamery in the United States. It remains a family-owned and operated business to this day.
