SIDEKICK:
All Saddled Up and Ready to Ride

Cowgirl Creamery's much-anticipated new eatery, Sidekick, opened its doors this week adjacent to our Ferry Building store in downtown San Francisco. The San Francisco Chronicle's "Inside Scoop" said, "For dairy lovers, the new concept from Peggy Smith and Sue Conley should be a godsend, from the mozzarella bar to the milk bar to the raclette offerings." But it's not just about farm-fresh organic dairy and handmade cheeses... at Sidekick, these are paired with the best seasonal ingredients provided by fellow culinarians in the Ferry Building and Farmers Market. The result is fine artisan snacks, drinks and meals-to-go, created to satisfy the heartiest appetites and the finest palates.

A Box of the Best!

Congratulations to all of this year's participants in the American Cheese Society conference! All were great, but a few stood out and were honored with special awards. We put together a collection of the best of the best. Upland Farm's Pleasant Ridge Reserve won Best of Show, a nutty cow milk cheese with a hint of caramel (8oz). Also taking home ribbons were Tumalo Farms' Capricorns, a goat milk cheese is made with rainbow peppercorns, each with its own complex flavor (8oz); Mt Townsend Creamery's Seastack, a cow milk cheese with a mild, earthy flavor (8oz); and our own triple creme MT TAM (8oz) rounds out a box of the best cheese in the country. Order here.

The Moo Moo Hooters

GIVE A HOOT TO THE MOO MOO HOOTERS! Cowgirl Creamery is happy to support the Moo Moo Hooters bird-counting team during the annual Bird-A-Thon fundraiser for our friends at PRBO Conservation Science (formerly Point Reyes Bird Observatory). Teams spend 24 hours in the field, identifying as many bird species as they can, and sponsors support them per bird species or via a flat donation. The Moo Moo Hooters (which has a Holstein cow and horned owl as their mascots) expect to identify between 80 and 200 birds during the upcoming event. PRBO Conservation Science does wonderful work in conserving and preserving wildlife and ecosystems on the Pacific flyway and beyond.
